CHRONIC Here is a copy of a claim of a hotelier letter sent to the different administrations Moroccan that Made writing in Marrakech has desired publish.<br>

A Mr Director General of taxes of Marrakech.

Subject: Revision of the percentage of the tax.

I undersigned Mr Gandibleux Jean-Pierre, owner of the hotel Kasbah le Mirage, located in Douar Ouled Messaoud, seeks hereby your high benevolence, to review the actual amount of tax to be applied to my operation, taking into account the following elements.

Dated 21 March 2005, the Regional Commission of classification of establishments tourism us was catalogued as a "House of hosts of 1st category" while we are a hotel with 26 rooms and we are also classified as such in all the catalogues of tours operators partners.

By definition, a bed and breakfast is a small unit where the owner living on-site receives pay hosts, this is not my case.

Since the old rural community was encompassed by the city of Marrakech, so it is normal that the residents must pay taxes, but need this same common adapts to its new status! In this connection, we send to your appreciation photos describing unsanitary and the deplorable conditions in which we receive domestic and foreign tourists:

"-"No road but a trail which after a few minutes is impractical and therefore isolating the village from the rest of the world. Track access without lighting, and signage.

The village of Ouled Messaoud, end of 2008:

"-" Inhabitants are still not connected by the RADEEMA individual meter and we depend on water from a public fountain. But also no post office, or from box mailing.

"-"In addition to the taxes of stay, we pay Government taxes while we have no service of highways, or container for garbage to abandoned in the village.

As you can see in the photo, this village looks more and more by these waste and rubble of construction at a public dump to the city of Marrakech.

You can also see that having any control or no monitoring of the local authorities, the inhabitants built creep and without any authorization, or title, or standard houses, in every corner of the village.

For example, I present to you in this photo the construction of my neighbour hit for more than a year of a notice of demolition and that being troubled by the administration, quietly completes its construction.

In conclusion, for these reasons and still many others, we are aware of our obligations but also expect our rights and it is for this reason that we appeal to your judgment.

A copy of this letter is sent by recommended classification tourist service as well as the President of the Commune.

However, if in the coming month we have no further to our claim, we reserve the right to inform the media of this situation that makes no sense and to send our grievances with photos to support to various national newspapers.

We rely on the importance of your function to carry out this query that we contribute to the collective will of attractiveness of the city of Marrakech and the same, tourism in the Morocco.

Kind regards

Jean-Pierre Gandibleux
