CULTURE Announced in the 2005 edition of the festival of cinema (see), the superior school of Visual arts (VAAE) of Marrakech will open its doors to the 2007 re-entry. The first promotion will install on the premises of Dar Bellarj, pending the opening of the building final, located in the neighbourhood of universities. This will be the first school of cinema at the Morocco. Its founders - the Dar Bellarj Foundation and the University Cadi Ayyad of Marrakech-, carry out this Friday, June 9 in grand ceremony laying the first stone of the building. Indeed, the Marrakech Vaae is a project which could see the day the Foundation Dar Bellarj and the University Cadi Ayyad of Marrakech. This partnership is embodied in the creation of the her higher school of Visual arts of Marrakesh, in which the University holds 20% shares and the Foundation Dar Bellarj 80%. "This taking of a Moroccan public institution in a society of private higher education is part of the recent reform of the Moroccan University," indicate the project.

Note that Dar Bellarj fits between an art museum and a cultural foundation, created in 1999 by a couple Switzerland, Susanna and Max Biedermann.

Associated with the former Director of the French Institute of Marrakech (MFI), Vincent Melili, three people have thought about a future film school who will host a first promotion 60 students. The cost of schooling is 50,000 DH per year per student for a course of at least 4 years. Amount enough expensive training, say some.

"However, a structure associative parallel to the school will be created, with mission to raise public and private funds to establish a scholarship fund". Funds which will help to fund in whole or in part the tuition for students selected through competition.

At the educational level, school focuses on the teaching of trades of Visual and audiovisual creation. These trades apply to very active areas at the international level. "School failings the lack of profiles qualified for careers in the Visual creation at a time where the film industry in the Morocco develops, where TV channels are created and where the advertising activity flourishes".

For funding, it is Dar Bellarj is inclusive in the first place. The Foundation provides an amount of EUR 5 million to the Vaae who will develop the project, build and equip school.

Meanwhile, University who provided the land is expected to "of the educational immediate impact on all of its teachers and students", according to Ahmed Jebli, President of the University Cadi Ayyad. Indeed, the school while allowing 60 students, and for which a call was launched, should organize forums and workshops open to students of other courses. "It is normal for the school to become a crossroads of meetings and exchanges between professionals and to which all students will be invited," says.
