SOCIETY A tribute was made Friday in Marrakech last nationalist and resistant Saadia Alami, at a large ceremony in his honour by the Euromed Centre cultural Morocco (CMTC), in the presence of a gathering of intellectuals, academics, of activists for the rights of man and members of the family of the resistance.

Native of Fez in 1936, Saadia Alami, one of the great ladies of the history of the Kingdom and nationalist and resistant at a young age, marked an important step in the Moroccan resistance, in addition to the fact that she was the wife of the late martyr Mohamed Zerktouni.

A few years after the death of the martyr and large nationalist fire Zerktouni, Saadia Alami was remarried with the great nationalist still alive but confined to bed due to illness, Haj Mohamed Chouhaidi, who held the position of President of the Court of Marrakech until his retirement.

This ceremony was an opportunity for a number of speakers shed light on these some iconic faces and pioneers of the Moroccan resistance, have demonstrated self-sacrifice and dedication for the defence of the national cause and have sacrificed their lives and their souls to the service of the fatherland.

In a statement to the MAP, Aziz Cherkaoui, the CCEM President, has indicated that this laudable initiative is to enable young people to rub the radiant history of the Kingdom and especially, to closely measure the extent of the sacrifices made by resistance and resistant for the release of the Morocco and for the defence of its territorial integrity.

After recalling that this action is a sign of recognition and gratitude to these symbols of national resistance, Cherkaoui indicated that Saadia Alami remains one of the distinguished in the history of the Kingdom, worthy of respect and recognition for its sacrifices in the service of the liberation of the motherland.

Created four years ago at Marrakesh on the initiative of the French city of Tours, in an agreement of decentralised cooperation between the two cities, the CMTC is the main carrier of the project "The Andalusian Arab of European culture heritage". This centre is a member of the network of Centres of European (CEC), whose headquarters is located in St Jean of Angèly (Charente).

The CCEM assigns mission is to increase the activities promoting cultural exchanges between the two Mediterranean and shores, with a view to developing a reflective dimension to trade with others, while prô concerning the principles of tolerance, curiosity and greed to.
