CULTURE Anne-Marie Corre, journalist and editor for Paris Match, was published on 5 February 2009, in the editions of the rock, in the collection "The novel of the magic places" led by Vladimir Fedorovski, 'Le Roman de marrakech'.

In this opus, the author unveils his passion for the Moroccan city, through the history of the city, its gastronomy, its culture, its craft or even its remains.

"-" Summary of the book

This éblouie plain of Sun at the foot of the snow-covered Atlas where her love as a woman in her pink ochre wall, flesh of raw land, its maze of alleys, enchanted gardens, its troubling perfumes. All charms which contain secrets and mysteries. Even before to discover its hidden treasures, on urge, on devine and it flutters, captivated. Better than the pleasure, the "red city" invites you to desire

But beyond this sensual image, its troubled history recalled that in the 12th and 13th centuries, Marrakech ruled over a vast empire of Senegal North of the Spain. Epic battles, conquests to the taste of gold and blood, fascinating heroes, fratricidal struggles. Who would imagine that the place Djema'a el - Fna square with its merchants of amulets, was the scene of so much splendour, love and hate? Today, the excesses of wealth and the luxury tourist shed on the exoticism of Marrakech the shadow of the Islamist rigour.

Should we fear the explosion? These new challenges economic and religious, the traditional opening of Marrakech and its mixed population - Berber, Arab, Jewish - are hoping that the city remains moderate in its fevers and tolerant in its culture.
