Online on 14 May 2008  |  Culture

CULTURE A sociologist by training, Karim Ben Driss is especially and also a Sufi of heart. He invites us to discover the teaching of a saint of our time, Sidi Hamza, al-Qâdirryya al-Boudchichiyya brotherhood spiritual master and descendant of the Holy Iraqi Mulay Abd al Qadir Jilani (1077-1166).<br>

After a general presentation on the fundamentals of Sufi teaching, the author tells the story of the Boudchich family, originally of Iraq and moved in northeastern Morocco in the 18th century.

This family has been through the generations a great spiritual radiation and Sidi Boumedienne (1873-1957) was a route including landmark because, at the end of a long journey in the world of the saints and the ecstatic, he brought back the precious "spiritual secret" in the way of his ancestors became the guide.

The author says that he was then predicted to the young Sidi Hamza, his disciple, that members of the fraternity would come one day of the four cardinal points to the visit.

Today, they are indeed close to 30,000 each year to go to him, in the province of Oujda, celebrating, all origins combined, the night of destiny or the Nativity of the Prophet.
