Speaking at a ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of this institution, initiated under the sign "Together for quality medical education", M. Merzak has indicated that the University by its involvement in this initiative, is intended to accompany the Government strategy aimed at the development of scientific and medical fields to the Morocco.

And to add that this academic institution gives particular importance to scientific research, which is likely to play a leading role in the achievement of the socio-economic development. the UCAM, he continued, dedicated a substantial portion of its budget to the promotion of scientific research.

After having focused on the relations of international cooperation between the UCAM number of international universities and research institutes, M. Merzak indicated that the Cadi Ayyad University became, through the combination of the efforts of all its components, a University Centre regional and national important, with a presence in the cities of Marrakech, Safi, Essaouira and Kelâa Sraghna.

The UCAM has also participated in number of meetings, conferences and national Congress and international in scope, he recalled.

For its part, the Dean of the Faculty of medicine and pharmacy of Marrakech, M. Abdelhak Alaoui Yazidi, went through the achievements as the different activities of this institution since its opening in 1999, specifying that this faculty currently has students 1,527, including 65 pc students and 78 students and students from 15 African countries.

It has also a framework composed of 54 staff teachers, including 15 military doctors, he added, indicating that the rate of success in this institution is 80 PC and the number of its winners rises to 298 doctors.

Mr. Alaoui Yazidi also noted that the Faculty of Medicine of Marrakech attaches particular importance to scientific research in the medical field, noting that the strategy of the institution is based primarily on the development of technologies of communication and information for students, the promotion of training continues and teachers-coaches, the strengthening of international cooperation in the medical field and the opening on the environment, socio-economic and cultural.
