The project of "The Ark in country Toulouse"

"The Ark in country Toulouse" is an association law 1901 created in April 2006 and attached to the Federation of communities of the Ark of Jean Vanier, which brings together, in the world, 135 institutions allowing more than 3000 mentally disabled adults.

The association is set as main goal the creation and management, in the Toulouse area, of a health facility for 40 adults with mental disabilities.

The facility will host:

16 little autonomous people around personal development activities;

24 disabled workers around activities including industrial subcontracting, market gardening (with delivery of vegetables to individuals, particularly isolated elderly people), and a restaurant.

This project, which will create 23 jobs, has just received all the necessary permissions from the administrative authorities. The construction starts in the spring next to an opening of the end of 2011 establishment.

Participate in the change of the look on disability

The second objective of the association is to contribute by his actions and his testimony to the change of the look our society focuses on disability and the disabled person.

It is for this purpose that twenty Toulouse Marathon wear the colours of the project beyond the borders, illustrating the international dimension of the arch, Jean Vanier, and the necessary evolution of the look worn by our societies, of any country whatsoever on the difference, frailty, disability.

Some of them have the habit to participate each year in the marathon of the greater Toulouse and Blagnac Marathon.
