SAR the Prince Moulay Rachid, upon his arrival, went through a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces which made the honours before be welcomed by the High Commissioner to the waters and forests and the fight against desertification, M.Abdeladim Lhafi, the President of the CIC, Mr. Dieter Schramm, as well as by the wali of the region of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, Mr. Mounir Chraïbi.
SAR the Prince Moulay Rachid was also welcomed by the President of the Municipal Council of the city of Marrakech and the Commander of the Place d'Armes.
At the opening session, Mr. Lhafi pointed out that in addition to sports, and entertainment aspects, hunting is a real importance in the achievement of the socio-economic development, which place in the centre of the concerns of this sector with a view to be leveraged for rural development both locally on the regional plan.
Starting from this observation and for the promotion of this sector, as a modern environmental management tool able to accompany the socio-economic reality and its development, it was conducted as early as 2006 the updating of the legal framework regulating this activity, continued M.Lhafi. "We are committed to working to strengthen our partnership and our cooperation with the Morocco, natural resources and biodiversity-rich countries", he said.
Born of an initiative in Europe from East to the 1900s, the CIC was created in 1928 and is currently an advisory, independent organization on the political plan, which aims to preserve the species from the game through the promotion of sustainable use of wildlife resources.
The CIC brings together 32 Member States including the Morocco, universities, NGOs and private members and scientific experts from 82 countries.
