EVENING For the first time in Marrakech, a trio of renowned musicians are gathering in the Zyriab Gardens on Saturday 26th of May. This will be a magical evening for music lovers
The musical trio named, Trio Zyriab, the name of the institution they formed in, consists of a saxophonist, a bassist and a drummer. Daniel Mirabeau plays the saxophone, combining his skills with Middle Eastern melodies. This outstanding saxophonist has performed at many festivals and has collaborated with big names such as Dorsaf Hamdani (vocalst), Lassad Hosni (percussionist), Mohamed Osma (bouzouki) and Zad Multaka (pianist). He has also played with Jerry Bergonzi, the company Lubat, Antoine Herve and Vinko Globokar.
On bass, we will find Alain Pollonni, a gifted jazz artist who has played in the free orchestra of Yochk’o Seffer, the jazz quartet of Manu Square. The Rhino Jazz Festival, Cap Breton and the Hot Club Jazz Festival have all received the sounds of this bassist, at the moment he plays with the trio of Micheal Salmoilikoff. The last person in this band, Sebastian Mourant , winner of the jazz contest in 2001, he has toured the world’s biggest festivals in Russia, Spain and Vienna, this talented drummer has also played with Vincent Courtois, Laurent Dehors and Serge Lazarevitch.
What a Garden!
The meeting of this trip will be in a setting where they can best express themselves, Garden Zyriab fits that requirement. Hauntingly quiet, with architecture that combines traditional and modernity, the setting is ideal for such a concert. Privatized for the ocassion, the prestigious residence offers 20 luxury suites with stunning views of the Atlas. The real centre of attention remains the lush garden of 7000 m2, with palms, bougainvillea, and pomegranate and olive trees. It is in these gardens, in front of the gigantic pool that the concert will take place. The Jazz trio, who came from Lyon, awaits you on Saturday 26th of May, for a magical evening filled with emotion and jazzy rhythms combined with Andalusian melodies.
